West side of Agricultural Hall building and plaza.Agricultural Hall, the home of the OSU Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, was completed in July 2024 after a three-year construction process.  The New Frontiers campaign was launched in January 2020 to build a new, state-of-the-art facility for OSU Agriculture. Agricultural Hall further advances teaching, research and Extension efforts critical to the state’s economy, citizens’ safety and quality of life. By advancing OSU Agriculture and its programs, the new building fosters innovation to help feed the world.

Agricultural Hall prioritizes experiential learning, adaptive research and a strong sense of community through strategically designed spaces; fosters learning and collaboration; and harnesses energy and excitement of innovation. It will help progress the land-grant mission at OSU by equipping students, faculty and staff with cutting-edge research facilities to continue their research efforts while attracting scientific leaders.

A Name With History

On June 14, 2024, the OSU/A&M Board of Regents voted to name the new building Agricultural Hall and rename the original Ag Hall to Legacy Hall. Both are located at the intersection of Farm Road and Monroe Street.

The naming signifies the history and legacy of Agricultural Hall and allows it to continue for future generations of Cowboys. New Frontiers will always embody the spirit and momentum of the fundraising campaign and construction, but it was never intended to be the final name for the building. This decision also preserves an opportunity for a donor to name the new building in the future.

Intentional Space Design

  • The Hilst Center for Student Success occupies a 1,280-square-foot footprint on the first floor right as students enter the building.
  • The three-story building includes 10 dedicated club and study rooms and 19 huddle rooms. These spaces will be beneficial for small group collaboration and for faculty to interact with students and other faculty members.
  • Ag Hall features 13 curriculum-specific and shared teaching and computer laboratories. In addition, the building has 11 conference rooms, including an executive conference room, 2 courtyard conference rooms, 3 stadium conference rooms, 2 departmental conference rooms plus another 3 conference rooms.
  • There are 25,855 square feet of new research lab space with labs stacked vertically in the southern wing to facilitate intensive infrastructure sharing.
  • The research laboratories have 4 growth rooms, space for 7 growth chambers, numerous shared freezers and cookers, seed and grain archive, and dedicated sample prep and grinding spaces.
  • The research labs are designed to be modern shared facilities, which are flexible and can be rearranged to accommodate research needs while encouraging collaboration.
  • The Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development program is located on the second floor of Ag Hall.

New Frontiers

The New Frontiers campaign is recognized as one of the fastest capital campaigns at OSU and the first academic capital campaign of this magnitude to reach its fundraising goal before the building opens. Thanks to more than 650 donors giving $50,942,965 to date, Agricultural Hall allows OSU Agriculture to contribute to President Kayse Shrum’s four key areas: Innovating to nourish the world, leading in aerospace innovation and application, enhancing human and animal health (One Health) and powering a growing world population sustainably and responsibly.
