Special Guest: David Newman

David Newman is the chief executive officer for the National Pork Board, where he leads Pork Checkoff-funded promotion, research and education projects on behalf of the nation’s 60,000 pork producers. Before serving as CEO, Newman led the National Pork Board market growth team on projects related to international and domestic demand, health and nutrition. Prior to his employment with the National Pork Board, he had a successful academic career as a professor at North Dakota State University and Arkansas State University, where he served as a leader in meat science and swine research programs. Newman is a former president of the National Pork Board of Directors and held multiple roles on the National Pork Board's committees throughout his career. In addition to his role as CEO, Newman also raises pigs. He is the owner of his family’s farming operation, Newman Farm Heritage Berkshire Pork.
